I go to a news website, one of the ones most left wing people freak out about even though it's owned by jewish people (well the pro-Israel kind, so I guess Jews are nazis now too LOL), and it keeps trying to get me to click on these ad links about fake stories about how every Fox News anchor is a lesbian (they're not, well there's one but she like some boring token ex-70's feminist person, but it's the other ones). Like do they know that much? XD Also sometimes I get paranoid things I talk about over VoIP end up in ads some how especially concerning travel locations. It's really creepy.
I destroy my algorithm all the time by watching something strange. Honestly if youtube isn't recommending the same videos over and over, it's recommending rage bait nonsense. That and reaction videos, can't listen to any old music or I'm inundated with reaction videos. I guess youtube really thinks I need to know what some gen-z kid thinks about DMX's X is coming for you. The funny thing is, let me watch days worth of draw with me videos, subscribe to a bunch of channels and it won't recommend new ones.
Also, is it just me, because youtube knows I'm a guy in his 40's, but do you also get the fleshlight ads and the mail order bride/human trafficking ads? The mail order one is the oddest, there are two that are exactly the same, you just substitute Eastern European for Southeast Asian. Both tell you how the women have traditional values and want to have your kids. Just very odd from a place where you can't openly discuss human trafficking.
I've never got ads for that! Whoa. I use a bunch of adblocks but when YouTube forces me to watch their stuff it's usually the normal stuff. Nothing "fun" like that. (btw, I use Brave Browser on my mac and YouTube can't play ads, even with their new war against adblocks extensions).

pause your history, get something like ublock origin, change browsers, reject as many cookies as possible, and see what kind of VPNs are available for your budget.
