Been reading these post ans as always, they're informative, even if I know nothing about K-pop. Personally I really loved the Kiss of Life videos you posted earlier in the year. I've already told you how impressive I find K=pop MV. They remind me of the 90's when American artist were dropping crazy money on MVs. The only other video I liked better was the crazy action one. I wonder if you'll make a list of just your favorite MVs or if it's not possible to separate the MV from the music.

I don't know if I'll do that this year, but maybe next year. The reason is that while I think the MVs are cool, a lot of K-pop MVs kinda follow the same formula. It'd be hard to pick ten, I think lol. Maybe I'll spitball on MVs I strongly remember as great.
I think we can safely add all Kiss of Life's first album mvs and Allergy+Queencard because of the story and subtle visual easter eggs. I DO was also fun, but some editing mistakes ruin it for me. Mararoni Cheese by Young Posse this year was probably one of the crazier videos I've seen, MISAMO's Do Not Touch is pure art and insanely impressive visually. There are shots I liked in TWICE's Set Me Free (the girls running from actual explosions and fire at the end - it was shot for real) and IVE's I AM (Wonyoung jumping out of the plane and the runway shots at the end) but most of it are typical k-pop shots. LE SSERAFIM's Burn the Bridge is really artistic, but I don't count that as a song, it's more like a trailer. I liked ITZY's Bet On ME because the visual were telling the same story as the lyrics really well.
But yeah, other than those, nothing stands out too much for me. I talked about KNOCK already but I wouldn't consider it MV of the year or anything. I think next year I'll have to mark down the standouts so I can make a more accurate list. I probably saw about 200 MVs this year, saved 158 of them on a playlist on YouTube, so I'm bound not to remember everything.

@glee-chan I can see what you mean, 200 MVs is crazy. I think I'd have the same problem choosing my favorite wrestling matches of the year. I could just list almost every match in the Best of Super Jrs and the G1 Climax as just amazing. You know its a good year for your hobbies, when there's just too much great stuff out there.

Last year and this one I started taking notes at the beginning of the year, already ranking as I went along. Some moved up and down the list after each comeback. The towards the end of the year I review what I have and see if fair. I bought a lot more albums this year than any other year, so I had more b-tracks I listened to and what not. So that factored into the list as well.

I wish I was still into anything as much as you are into K-Pop. You really seem to love it. xd

It's my ONE hobby I really can't talk to anyone about other than Mia. Since she likes most of the same things I do, there isn't much of a conversation to be had, lol. I'm part of some fan groups, but I haven't really made any friends that are into having long conversations about minutiae. The best I get is a few back and forths on the comment section on YouTube videos. Had a thread going on for a bit on a fake ship, lol. (Look up 'Michaeng' if you're curious) BUT yes, I'm the idiot who buys physical albums, digital albums, and steam. I collect photobooks and cards and there may be some posters on my office wall.

@glee-chan Wow, you are really thorough when it came to this. It does seem like you enjoy making list. You've made plenty and they usually have really well thought out explanations.

Maybe I over think it? I go into so much detail when I know maybe three or four people who follow me casually are interested. I'm just happy that you humor me. I know it's not something you're all that into but can fine some entertainment out of. If I wasn't linking stuff, I don't know if you'd search it, but at least you're like "that's cool". lol. K-Pop is intimidating and not for everyone, I get that. Some people find it annoying and are scared away by the awful fanbase. Biuuuuuuuuuttttttttttt it's really cool!!! I there's cute girls! And they dance and are funny... lol

@glee-chan K-pop stuff actually does show up in my youtube feed, that and girl j-rock groups. I guess you've infected my feed with the k-pop virus, I got a fever and the only thing that can cure it, are more noonas dancing.

On a completely different note, Stings last match will be in Greensboro , NC during AEW's Revolution. He'll be saying goodbye in your neck of the woods.

Maybe it's because my first exposer to Sting was in TNA, but I never did get into him. I understand he had a huge legacy before hand in NWA and WCW, had multiple gimmicks, and is still considered by many is one of the greats, but TNA Sting was just collecting a paycheck..kinda. He give decent matches, but a lot of the time he'd just wrestle in his t-shirt, was blown out midway through, and his character was just Steve Borden. He still had the "Crow" make up but was just some dude who had a passing care at what was going on in front of him. Say what you want about Steiner or Booker T who were also just cashing in checks, at least they acted like they wanted to be there. People also have wanted to see Sting vs Taker, but I don't really see those two character as complimentary. Even as old dudes, I think Taker still gave better matches, no matter who he was with while Sting had to be in the mood. I think in TNA Angle give him good matches, but if you can't do a good match with Angle you just need to quit the business. I don't know. I'm sure there's some hype and great matches I never saw, but to me the guy is like my boring uncle who one day decided he might wrestle for a bit.

@glee-chan Sting in TNA was just odd. The whole point of the Crow gimmick, is that he was fighting against the heels abusing the system, but in TNA he was either just another wrestler or part of the system in the Main Event Mafia. I think the reason Sting is such an icon to people from the 90's is his build up to his match with Hogan was so well done. Of course the match wasn't good, because it's Hogan. I think his real legacy comes from Surfer Sting, back when he was wrestling Flair.

In AEW he has been putting in effort. I can't think of any singles matches he's had, he is in his 60's, but he's had a ton of tag matches. I also never thought of him as a high flyer, but he is consistently hitting crossbodies off of high places. He is mostly there as a legacy act and to build up Darby Allen. AEW has done a good job of not just letting old wrestlers get big spots because of their name value. They do have guys who get pushed hard, but usually there is a reason, like when Edge joined AEW. He went directly into a feud with Christian, who is the top heel in the company. Funny how everyone was disappointed when Christian was the surprise signing at a pay-per-view and now he's having the best singles run of his career. Who knew that making fun of peoples dead relatives and telling them he's going to fuck their moms, was the formula to getting over as a heel.

Also, you might know this, but the guy who came up with the Crow Sting idea was Scott Hall. Apparently he was a big movie buff and proposed it to Sting.
